Agnieszka Smoczyńska's "Fugue", presented at Sofia Meetings, meets the audience today in Karlovy Vary

Agnieszka Smoczyńska presented the project for her new film "Fugue" ("Fuga") in Sofia Meetings' programme in 2016 and right now this film meets the audience at the special "Another View" section in 53-rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The world premiere of this new film, made by the young Polish director, was in May - in the "Critics Week"'s competition programme at Cannes.

With its 15 successful years the market for film projects in Sofia has found his special place among other forums in the region and in Europe and achieved a lot of respect and international recognition. The main Sofia Meetings' goal is providing opportunities for new European co-productions. This is the one and only professional event of such scale in the world of film industry in Bulgaria and it is supported by European Union's "Creative Europe MEDIA" programme.

"Fugue" tells a story of an unknown woman suffering from memory loss turns up one day at Warsaw’s main station. A couple of years later, she is recognised on TV and goes back to her family. But will she be able to relate to people, now complete strangers, who were once close to her? The film is dominated by a focused performance from Gabriela Muskała, who also wrote the screenplay.

Smoczyńska's debut film "The Lure" was featured in the competition of the 20th Sofia Film Festival and received the Youth Jury Award at the festival.

We wish Good Luck to Agnieszka Smoczyńska and her new film!
