SOFIA MEETINGS's project „BEGGAR“ will be presented at CROSSROADS Co-production Forum in Thessaloniki

SOFIA MEETINGS' project „BEGGAR“ by the director Nadejda Koseva and producer Vladimir Andreev – Borough Film was selected for this year's CROSSROADS Forum at Thessaloniki and the two co-production forums continue their fruitful partnership. Among the others there are five Greek co-production projects, two Serbian co- production projects, and also teams, presenting their projects from Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, a co-production between Switzerland and UNMI Kossovo and also a co-production between Italy and France.

59-th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the most prestigious film forum in Greece, started its programme yesterday and will continue till November 11. Thessaloniki’s Film Market AGORA will be held from 7th till 10th of November with 15 interesting and diverse projects, competing at the CROSSROADS Co-production Forum. Crossroads headed by Marie-Pierre Macia, has selected projects, based on the quality of the script, the creative team and the likelihood of it being produced. All selected projects are either produced or co-produced by a country in South-eastern and Central Europe or the Mediterranean area, or contain story elements linked to these regions.

In 2005 AGORA, Thessaloniki’s Film Market, was created and established a productive and unique form of helping and introducing professionals from South-Eastern and Central Europe, the Balkan region, the Mediterranean as well as the rest of the world to the invited industry professionals, consultants, tutors and potential collaborators.

Nikos Labôt's film HER JOB“ is another very successful SOFIA MEETINGS' project and after it's premiere at Toronto and three awards from Warsaw, it will be part of the International competition. Another important entry in Thessaloniki's programme in 2018 is Milko Lazarov's „AGA“ - bold and applauded SOFIA MEETINGS' project - in the section „Balkan Survey“. For 25 years the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s Balkan Survey section has been showcasing the best samples of the Balkan area’s film production.

We wish success and good fortune to Nadejda Koseva and her new project!
Her debut feature „IRINA“ has its international premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival and was awarded with a Special Jury Prize for the actress Martina Apostolova and also with the Prize of Ecumenical Jury!
