YEVA

Yeva is a young woman who escapes her influential inlaws with her daughter Nareh, after her husband’s tragic death and takes refuge in one of the villages of Karabakh. Yeva is a complete stranger in this village and is obliged to
live her daily life in disguise.

„In this flm script, I have found my personages in a distant and unknown area such as Karabakh, in which the insecurity of the war has become an extra factor for their commitment, and they are obliged to deal with themselves with complete honesty and transparency. The main personage of the movie, “Yeva”, becomes the phoenix of her own life to confront the problems, threats, and even her own weaknesses. Humans are human anywhere in this planet, what differs them are cultures and viewpoints that creates the charm of this beautiful earth. The reality is that I am an Armenian Christian woman who was born and lived in a country such as Iran. The difficult and sweet experience of a minority living inside a majority has always been a part of my life.“
